Ruins of Ani

Ani is a ruined medieval Armenian city now situated on the border between the Republic of Armenia and Turkey. Ani was the capital of the medieval Bagratid Armenian kingdom (961–1045 AD) and remains a profound symbol of Armenian cultural, religious, and national heritage, often referred to as the "City of 1001 Churches".
